I wonder if Mr. VIZARD will ever try and build/re-build the remains of this wreck. He is probably the breeds best chance of being reborn. The ony thing that would be better is if a very rich person had him build one.

IIRC during the hoped for WIX Whirlwind reconstruction project some years ago Tony King phoned Steve Vizard and was told that his dream was to one day start building a full size Whirlwind. If someone can do it he can. Perhaps this is a start.

HI Cees
Steve was very enthusiastic about it. I get the feeling, he regards this as his true calling in life.
The very best of luck to Steve and his team

I'd certainly be very interested to see a rebuilt Whirlie (even a part-rebuild or a cockpit section for that matter). Best of luck to Steve Vizard.

I have seen the photograph in FlyPast yesterday and one of the engines at least looks very complete give or take a bit of crashdamage but the mountings are still intact so could be restored to static configuration.
Let's radiate some positive brainwaves towards this hopefully to be carried out restoration
