I'm sure the answer to this question is somewhere on a WIX thread but I couldn't find it. Some sources say that Lewis is from San Antonio but others say he's from Cotulla which is about 100 miles south of San Antonio. Which is it? (I realize that 100 miles is a very short distance in Texas!) I saw a picture somewhere of a LARGE private airport complex.

Thanks for enlightening me!

Dennis

His private strip is about 30 miles north of Laredo TX (brownsville sectional chart) on I-35. We flew the B-25 down to Laredo this past Sunday for an airshow and were lucky enough to be flying right over his strip as his Corsair, Mustang, & Bearcat were forming up to head to the show.

To answer your question, he keeps aircraft at both locations. And before everyone starts complaining about not being accesable there are plans to remedy that situation in the future.

In a recent EAA Warbirds magazine, Bowen had a bunch of pictures from a Jardin Ranch fly-in, or something like that, I don't remember the exact name.

But there were shots at his private runway (from the air) I'm thinking it was like a 5000 ft paved strip out in the middle of nowhere

must be nice........

Thanks, guys!

Is Mr. Lewis a pilot? Or is he mainly a warbird collector and has other pilots fly his aircraft.

He's a pilot. There's a photo in a Warbird Digest (can't remember which issue) where his P-51 and P-38 were in formation and he was flying with Steve Hinton.
