This info pertaining to Mustang IIIs for the RAF...

Serial numbers FX848, 849, 907, 909, 910, 911, 913, 914, 915, 916, 918, 927, 928, 932, 948 were handed back
to the USAAF upon arrival in Britain.

...comes from THIS page on Joe Baugher's site.

Presumably this ship is one of those listed... perhaps Mister Mustang has more definite information.

I am out on a trip and away from my notes, but I believe this fuselage was used by Rolls Royce in development for engine uses. Was this the Griffon project?

I know, I know, I know!

I reeeaaallly want to.

Here's the link to the Footnote version of the photo: http://www.footnote.com/image/38269866/

I wouldn't be using it so much, but they make you sign up with all the billing information before you get the free trial. Well, I messed up and didn't get out of it in time, and got billed the 65 or so dollars a year that it costs. It'd it'd cost me a lot more to go to DC to get photos for our Liaison events stuff, so I figured I'd just keep the subscription and get all I can out of it.
