Flying... or restoration project?

If you are looking for a flyer; the Salis Collection's B-17 "Pink Lady" in France might be available for sale at the right price, since she's been grounded by the EU's new insurance requirements.

If you are looking for a project, then Tom Reilly would probably be the best person to contact. Most of what's available though will require an enormous amount of work, and money to complete.

Cheers,
Richard

I think Kermit Weeks has a poject '17 or two sitting around.

Don' t quote me on this but I seem to remember hearing that Paul Allen was thinking of selling his B-17.

Yes, and according last info, Pink Lady is not grounded, and is shedduled for the 2008 airshow season. (F3V is well more informed than me on this subject ;))

The persons who announced it in theft this year are very badly given information persons because the pilot leader it even was surprised by the announcement of his availability, they did not have summers informed them even that the plane was going to be able steal information in 2008 therefore is not absolutely confirmed for the time being.
There are too many persons persuaded to be informed about the fate of this plane but who in fact move forward to them even unconfirmed information. Me even I do not get ahead any more from the whole and I announce nothing more on the plane if I know things

No offense, but almost everything is for sale at the right price. I would like "Pink Lady" to continue flying in Europe though, and with the current owners.

The NASM has a spare one, and there's one in storage in Brazil... Unless your friend wants to sponsor an underwater (or under ice!) salvage operation, or maybe a trip to Bolivia to check out wrecksites, aren't all the known B-17 airframes pretty well spoken for by now? (but then, with the recent deaths of Messrs. Tallichet and Pond, maybe Memphis Belle or Miss Angela could become available?)

With a ski mask and a couple friends. finding a B-17 shouldn't be too hard.

I hear there's a B-17 in a place down south called Papua New Guinea.

tee hee!

problem is that all rumours which circulate on this plane are wrong and thrown by outside persons in the crew. The single thing of certain is that it will never be to sell, there it is on, for the rest it is often about creations on behalf of persons trying to put on forward.
I know that you would all like that it come back to you but here is this plane will never be to sell alas for you. The plane was given by the French government on the only condition to be preserved in France.

All the best
