Got a few pics that might interest the forum but am still struggling with Photobucket transfer so only able to post one at a time at the moment!
This 386th B-26 was taking off from Boxted, Essex while the runway drainage pipes were still being laid. Note package guns blocked out by the censor. You can almost hear those R-2800s!

Nice photo, but you have a misleading title. You should have mentioned that it was dirty and flying above ground.

JCW's dad was a pilot in the 386th BG and was shot down in May 1944 over France and captured.
