Wow, I knew Corsairs had fabric covered control surfaces and outer wings, but I didn't know the early ones had fabric cowlings... 8)

No, the test pilot over-torqued the engine causing the cowling to wrinkle. :lol:

Reminds me of a freind's B-25H model I saw as a kid. For awhile I assumed the real aircraft had a fabric covered nose, not realizing that the reason it was wrinkled was because he'd used gobs of tube glue to secure a bunch of lead fishing sinkers inside.
