Nose art Painter

Sun Mar 16, 2008 2:22 pm

Anyone got any leads on a good nose art painter. We have had a falling out over our painter. he decided its his decision on nose art or the road....Needless to say we need another nose art artist.

We have the art, just an artist to give it an update from a photo and spruce it up a bit.

We are in So Cal.

Any takers?

Thanks!

Gary Velasco (in Virginia) has experience on B-25's - Did the art on "Tondelayo"

Bill Strawn (through American Aero Services at www.americanaeroservices.com) has experience on "The Dragon and His Tail" and the new "Witchcraft" along with some others.

Of course our own Django has experience with "Ol' 927" and can be found through WIX.

Another contact is Frank Schaufler in Western New York... he's a graphical aviation artist with great background and has flexibility to schedules as he's self employed. I am sure he'd jump at the opportunity. Call 585-392-4859 or email avgrairfix@hotmail.com (make sure to leave a phone number as he doesn't really do email).

With any nose art, it's best to have a hangar it can be done in, or else the heat & sun in SoCal will impact the long-term results of the artwork.

I have got to recommend Jerome Urbaniak. He does fantasic art work on leather flight jackets and other surfaces. His painting is a solid "10"!

Check out examples of his work at this site:

Thanks, building a hanger is in progress. We are waiting the final city papers to allow us to build, and then work shall begin at a rapid pace. A local place here on station is allowing us to use there hanger while the nose art is being painted on.
The aircraft has a new Top coat for the next air show season, hopefully next year full paint, or maybe 2 years max. With bringing in another aircraft we are tight on money , but destined to make her look continuely great!

Thanks again!

If you are looking for someone located in southern Cal, call Steve Vandemon 714-717-2042. He's well know for his custom flame jobs on cars and bikes, but he paints everything.

Tell him Jim from 3M sent you...
