Sad to hear about Dick's passing.

I had the opportunity to meet him at the dedication of the restored Sikorsky VS-44 at the New England Air Museum and he was a true gentleman. It was really thanks to him that the VS-44 was saved, and brought back to California from South America.

BTW, when he originally wanted to get the VS-44 to the then Bradley Air Museum in the 1960's, he suggested delevering it in the winter after a heavy snow fall so he could land next to the runway in the snow!
Instead of that plan, Charlie Blair bought tthe VS-44 and then used it in the Virgin Islands until it was damaged in the 1970's.
