Well, due to things beyond his control, our air show Chairman had to step down. So, for the last 2 months I have been the show Chairman. I was planning to step in for next year, but did it this year to make sure the show happened.

Since I am VERY new at this, I would appreciate it if any WIX members who might attend would give me their input about the show. I really have a lot to learn and any help would be greatly appreciated.

I would suggest posting this on www.airshowbuzz.com as there are a lot of airshow professionals on the forums there. Also if you are still the chairman next year consider becoming a member of ICAS (www.icashq.org). That will help you in the long run.

I don't know what to tell you about running the airshow, but when we were there in '04 and I had to put a cylinder on the big, silver, four engined bomber, the staff and everyone else involved with the show there at Akron were great to deal with and were quite accomodating. Taking care of your participants like that is good practice. Thanks!!!

Nathan, what heinous crime did you commit that you were sentenced to be an Airshow Chairman?

But seriously, I’ve heard from several operators that you folks have done a fine job over the years. Stay the course and you’ll do fine.

Local forcast say rain should end by 10am if not sooner and partly sunny after that. Should end up being nice day. I should get there around 9am.
Anyone know if the C-130 is the one with the checkboard engines and will it be flying?

Mike

what is with all the politics with that museum?? a great facility!!, but i couldn't take it after 2 years of membership. i donated $400.00 worth of paint, toward renovations.... no thank, you + some memorabilia.... my aviation artist friend larry macmahan loaned his work, no thank you, in 2003 he did the back page of the airshow program, no thank you again!! we weren't looking for butt kissings..... but some aknowledgement of appreciation for our efforts would have been nice. since joe c. as director is now gone, i hope things have cleaned up, & we can be active again in the future. i commend you on your volunteering for alot of detail duty!!
