It's not actually shooting...it was not properly locked on to the missile rail and flew off when the jet trapped.

I didn't know that was the story Randy. It goes to show the forces involved during a "Trap"
Also the bloke in the foreground of the first picture didn't think so !

Yes, but notice how straight it's tracking along the deck on it's rear fin rollers and it seems to be trimming nose up...

What you can't see in that first picture, is the huge smile on the face of the pilot after watching the fella running out of the way. Only moments earlier, the pilot said over the radio, "Hey, y'all watch this!" :lol:

I don't know if anyone else here has experienced it but the force of
the deceleration is near the OMG level!!
BTW if I had loaded that AIM-9 it would have stayed on!
