Rob:

If your book on the Corsair includes Latin American Corsairs, let me volunteer to proof-read your text, in order to avoid misspellings and to correct geographical locations in South American.

What am I looking forward to in 2005 (or possibly beyond)...

1- Winning the Lottery...(the odds are only 14,000,000 to 1 so that win must just be around the corner now)

2- Somebody to invent a working time machine, so that we can go back in time and give a slap to the person that ordered the scrapping of the last of the following airframes and then save where possible...

Halifax
Manchester
Bombay
Hendon
Heyford
Stirling
Whitley
Whirlwind
Albemarle
Skua/Roc
Barracuda
MB5 prototype
Hornet
Wellesley plus many others not listed.

It'll never happen but Christmas is supposed to be a time of magic so... :D

Seriously though, seeing more airshows, airworthy restorations, new discoveries similar to the JU88/He111, seeing TFC's Hawk 75 and a few light bulbs at Hendon!

First and foremost I am looking forward to the end of what has been a rather rough year, secondly I am looking forward to the completion and ultimate release of my Multi-Media Cd-Rom on the 79th. Fighter Squadron. Beyond that? I guess I am looking forward to whatever my next project will be

Happy Holidays everyone!

Humm.... I have to go with the "win the lottery" response.

Actually, for 2005 I'm looking forward to getting a plane or two for the museum here in Wendover; putting on the 2005 Wendover air show; restoration of an original squadron admin. building; and hoping for peace.

Also, I'm looking forward to finding an editor in chief for the museum news letter. Anyone out there want to volunteer??

...but I'm trying to talk her out of it because I love her L5!

On the four fronts of my personality (Indians, Jeeps, Flying Machines and Guns).

April 29th to May 01 2005. Perkiomen Chapter of Antique Motorcycle Club of America. Need a set of crash bars for my RAAF 741. http://www.antiquemotorcycle.org/TheFun/amca_natmeets.html

Fuel system, body, brakes, and top insert done on the WC53 (being restored as a Crew Chief's truck for 9th AF B26 Squadron- haven't decided which one yet- Jason, which squadron was "Maytag Marauder" in?).

Tailwheel endorsement in the L5 finished. New KX175B installed. Scare lots of kids with free rides (I need to do 200 hours before I can fly Young Eagles). Attend the Battle of the Bulge reenactment at Fort Indian Town Gap, Sun 'n Fun, Osh Kosh, Mid Atlantic Air Museum's WWII weekend, Geneseo.

Actually shoot my 1917 Model 1911 and SVT-40.

Whew! Busy year coming up!

Attending more New England airshows, attending more WIX gatherings a going to Geneseo. Also a potential road trip to Florida and maybe a trip to USAF museum.

I'm also working on perfecting the cloning vats and acquiring some of Angelina Jolie's DNA

As 2005 is the 60th Anniversary of the end of WWII, I am looking forward to some seriously good documentaries on the box.

Happily, 2005 is an Avalon Airshow year, so I am looking forward to seeing the following all involved in a mass tribute to the end of WWII.

MKVIII Spitfire, Hudson, a plethora of Mustangs, CAC Boomerang, Warhawk (and a Kittyhawk, please Col), Gloster Meteor, Wirraway, Harvard, PBY Catalina and TBM Avenger.

The rest of the show promises to be not too shabby either.

I also look forward to knowing a lot more about warbirds this time next year than I do now.

Walrus

I’m looking forward to the Geneseo Air show, like every year. I’m excited for the Corsairs over Ct. also. I really hope this doesn’t turn out to be a let down. It will be great to gather with fellow WIX members at both events and hopefully more.

I truly hope the War bird world has more good news then bad news in 2005. 2004 was a horrible and a great year. I hope 2005 is only a great year.

John, "Maytag Marauder" never served with the USAAC. B-26 S/N 135362 served with 12 Sqn, South African Air Force FB431. Kind of a neat deal, the Maytag employees bought enough war bonds (must have been about $400K worth) over a two week period to purchase a B-26. As you know, Maytag made aircraft hydraulics during WW2.

I gotta track Norm down, I guess!
