Great pics! That Marauder has got to be one of the best looking birds of WWII. Too bad so few have survived.

Ya know, I've been walking past that "Thumper" nose art panel in tne NMUSAF for decades, and always thought it came from a B-29. Guess I should read the plaques more carefully. :roll:

There was a B-29 named "Thumper" Wonder if it may have been tha same crew after ETO?

The Monogram 1/48 scale B-29 kit used to come with decals for "Thumper." There may have been several aircraft with that name..Disney characters were very popular nose art subjects.

The NMUSAF has a neat exhibit about Disney's contribution to the war effort, including a set of "Snow White and the Seven Dwarves" figurines that inspired the artwork on the 98th BG's Ploesti Raiders.

I really like this image of a Razorback Thunderbolt escorting. Doesn't look as huge an aircraft when surrounded by Marauders.

wish the picture was better (although it's great anyways) so you could make the markings and nose art on the Thunderbolt. Any guesses as to which group/squadron it's from?
