Needed: A B17bestweb

The B24bestweb really does a fine job with that other four engine bomber. I like especially using their nose art search pages to determine serial numbers, squadrons, etc.

When will somebody get brave and start a similar web site for the B-17?
Any retired and bored computer-savy guys out there that want to take that on? The contributions you will get will overwhelm you in the first year or two I'm sure.

I agree wholeheartedly! I think that saving/storing the photos in a s/n searchable manner would also be helpful. Would be an easy way to figure out if you'd acquired a photo of every B-17 produced. A tall order, but a goal that I'm sure tons of folks would help with.

I am well on my way to documenting (with pictures) all 512 Boeing B-17Es. Working with the E is a tall order I have found; documenting and finding pictures of approx. 12,000 more B-17s will definitely take a while! I hope to put my findings on a website in the near future. Maybe I'll start with the 'F' model after that.

With that said, anyone have any pictures of B-17Es they'd like to share?

Know what you mean, I am doing N3N's and I only have 816 to look for.
