I was just curious whose P-63 is being used in the Tora, Tora, Tora demos? I seen a few vids of the act with the P-63 in it. Plus someone posted pics awhile back too.

I think its cool. :D 8)

Thanks,
Nate

If you are talking about the green one it belongs to Bill Shugaret out of Alice, Texas along with partner Pat McClure of San Antonio. Pats an old Tora pilot for about 15 years now and Bill is somewhat new to the warbird scene. The P-64 is the same one that Gary worked on at Nelsons'. Sometimes the P-64 or their Kate live at my hangar at 5c1.

Do you have a picture? I haven't heard of this P-63 before. Where was it prior to Texas? Any more details? Thanks.

Is it a P-63 or P-64 ? There's a world of difference, ya know !

It was a P-63 I saw in the Tora Tora Tora youtube video. Not a P-64.

That looks to me like a P-39! And I would venture a GOOD guess its CAF's based in San Marcos? Correct me if I'm wrong. I've seen them use the P-63 in the Tora act but its a little indisposed at the moment so that rules that out! :P Heck I have even seen them use Howards Bearcat to chase the Zero's in the act :!: :!: :!: How weird is that :o

Pretty sure it was a P-63 in the vid. It had the longer tail then the P-39 does. Heck I'll try and find the link.

Looks like a Kingcobra to me and, if the photo is recent, their is really only one Kingcobra that it could be which is the ex-Borman machine.

Cannot be Bormans 63, his does not have stars, his has stars and bars. Plus if you look closely it has a red nose, CAFs has red nose(spinner) and Stars, no bars :!:
