www.barnstormers.com is a good one too.

Go to browse adds, then there's all sorts categories, but at the bottom click on warbird. That's where you'll find complete airplanes, parts, etc, and there's also projects.

I hope that helps.

Cheers,

David

The two DC.6s look like the pair at North Weald (UK) which were flown over from the states for a film about the Berlin Airlift which was never made....

Come on man...this game is for wealthy people and that comment is uncalled for. Prices are driven by the market and are always negotiable.

Many sales occur outside of brokers and public listings.
If someone wants an aircraft bad enough and offers an owner enough money to make them want to do it you can have a private transaction.
Sometimes owners will approach someone who in the past has mentioned a desire to want a certain aircraft. Some owners want someone who has certain experience, ability or deep pockets to be the next caretaker and won't sell to just anyone.

Understood. Still doesnt change the fact that some of the prices they ask are very very very high. If this guys looking for a good deal, I would look elsewhere. If he has more money than sense, have at it. I'm definately not degrading the quality of aircraft that come out of provenance. Theyre top notch.

The "game being for wealthy people" has nothing to do with it. From the moment Provenance popped on to the warbird scene, they have acquired and re-sold warbirds for prices significantly above then-market value.

Good on them for exploiting a market that was obviously un-tapped. Sounds like a pretty straighforward business plan to me:

Quote:
Provenance -- a term referring to a collectible's history or chain of ownership -- is owned by Tony Raftis, an Australian computer entrepreneur who is into Ferraris and other fast machines.

The company was founded in 2005 after Brown, who was brokering World War II aircraft, sold a Corsair for Raftis at a tidy profit.

"He said, 'Can this be done on a regular basis?' " Brown recalled. "I said, 'It can,' and we went out and had a beer and thought up the idea for this company."

The organizational chart is straightforward, Brown said: "He finances it and I run it."

Plenty of people are willing to pay a premium to get a "top notch" aircraft.
