Sadly, the Scatterbrain Kid II was the CAF's only P-38, and the remains have been sold. White Lightnin', of course, was never owned by the CAF.

Ok, so the Vintage Fighters A/c was the last one operated by them I think?(s/n 44-26996 or 44-26981 which is it?)

Dan you have outside shots of the EAA example I believe?

Another P-38 question....Evergreens example, has it flown since being owned by them from 1990?

Very true, but many outsiders assumed it was a CAF A/C.

Any idea if any heavy hitters (like David T) ever approached the USAF about trading a fiberglass replica for the P-38 placed on a pole at McGuire AFB in NJ? Seems like the right person with the right tact and budget could pull it off - assuming the corrosion is tenable. Given the beautiful work on the Red Bull bird, maybe Ezell needs to scratch build a P-38 or two like the Me262 gang ....

Not true it was owned by the CAF on more than one occasion. Now that will stir up some folks................and rightly so. Truth hurts.

Interestingly, Tallichet is the reason that airplane is on a pole, he the P-38 to the USAF for an RC-130A back in the early 80's.
