OK, guys and girls, lots and lots of pics and more than a few from my flight in the B-24A! The flight was totally unexpected, but very much appreciated, and it was a crew training mission..... Just one of the benefits of being a member of the B-29/B-24 Squadron. The weather was just beautiful. Lots of birds and lots of flying.......... Now, just to clean up some biz..... Spanner was caught red-handed, exiting from the B-24A after a flight, from Saturday afternoon........ The troops down in Houston may have to hang him by his toes in the big hanger at Hobby as punishment for riding in the competition!!!!!!!! Thanks to Sandi Thompson, the Gulf Coast Wing PIO for this picture!

Jim Gentry is pictured here.... He was one of the unsung guys spearheading the maintenance on Ol' 927 (she was the 'Lil back then), back at his home in Oklahoma..... Jim still keeps his hand on the bird... He also piloted the Oklahoma Wing Pt-19 down to Airsho'... Thanks Jim!

Dang...

BUSTED!!!

Caught riding in a Ford when I'm Wing Leader of a Chevy.... :snakeman:

I hope nobody saw me crawling through Sentimental Journey! 8)

I definitely enjoyed my flight and thanks to the B24/29 Sqdn. for the hospitality.

Dave Morss and Carter Teeters worked on the mighty I-16 Rata to get her ready for the show, but no luck. Gear strut problems with the R-side, finally forced her back into the hanger......

Is it just me, or is there an important marking missing on that P-39... Better hurry up before someone mistakes it for a Yankee bird.
Seriously, that's a neat looking plane - also the Rata. Wish I could've been there.
Keep up the great shots.

Ryan

A few pics of a very beautiful Sea Fury...... This CAF bird is based in Memphis....... I saw virtually no oil dripping from this baby as she taxied in and shut down..... and no oil on the bottom! WoW! Great job! Somewhere, I think I remember that Gary had a big hand in an engine change a few years ago.......
