99% of those who see them never know they are fiberglass!

What's the point of putting up fiberglass replicas if they don't corrode like aluminum ones??!!!

There won't be anything to complain about or save if all the "real" airplanes on poles get replaced with plastic, non-corroding, live-for-ever materials!!!

I have stood 20 yards away from those planes and it is hard to tell them from the real thing. The genuine thing can be displayed and preserved indoors.

Argentina. It was displayed at BAN "El Tigre" near Buenos Aires, and carried the serial 3-A-204.

OK, this is where the Corsair used to be:

34 24' 48.90" S
58 35' 09.70" W

Left at the site, a T-6 and an F-9 Cougar.

Saludos,

Tulio

My pleasure.

I wish I was home, so I could provide you with more accurate info regarding the fate of that Corsair. I suspect, but have no documentary proof, that it could have been sold and ended up becoming LSFM's at one time or another.

Saludos,

Tulio

The Spitfire and Hurricane replicas are at the RAF Museum Hendon, as already pointed out. However the did need to be taken down recently and were repainted as they'd got very tired looking. Pity they didn't repaint the museum exterior as that looks very tired as well.

Hi Tulio,

It may be an old satellite photo, but it looks like there are three airframes on site...

Thoughts?

Do you want to find locations of displayed, stored or active aircraft? Then start with the The Locator.
Do you want to find or contribute to the documented history of an aircraft? If so then start with the Airframes Database.
