my apologies for posting this on the main thread, but it reaches the most people. my 92 year old dad died this week, you can imagine the details of the funeral, blurr of the mind etc. you can all save the replies, no carpal tunnel needed. dad lived a vibrant healthy life, a highly decorated ww 2 infantry rifle company commander in the pacific, retired a major. while not sad, i feel hollow. i've missed you folks / friends & look forward to getting back to my favorite site with the people i love interacting with the most. best regards to all, tom

My Dad will have been gone now 10 years ago this Christmas (seems like yesturday). There isn't a day that goes by that at some point I don't think about him in some way. I'm sorry for your loss :cry: .

Tom,

My sincerest condolences in the passing of your father. My Dad passed away about 6 years ago at age 83, and I still think about him frequently. He was a punster of the first magnitude, and I often catch myself thinking it sure would be nice to be able to tell my Dad another pun.

For those of you whose fathers are still around, cherish them and tell them you love them frequently.

Tom, I am sure you will treasure all those years you had together. One thing I remember about my Dad was his sense of personal honesty, if he gave his word it meant something. Integrity was not just a matter of who had the best legal defense team.

My Dad had grown up during the depression, he was quite a bit different from me, he was very hard working, he didn't have much time or interest in a lot of intellectual curiosity.

He was a middle of the road, traditional type. He probably thought the Spitfire was a bit nuts, (of course it is) but he saw me fly it once and I think he was also a bit proud of it.

My deepest condolences and sympathies to you and your family.

It will be 40 years since I lost my father on Dec 24 1968 and there isn't a day that I haven't missed him.
