I took a few more shots tonight of Halifax NA337 at the RCAFM Museum.

Her wings are now re-attached. :D

What a beautiful site!

Hey Mike, She sure is looking good. I have not been down since the move.

Hi

I think she has been ruined and should have been displayed as recovered like the magnificant display in Hendon with some old oil drums scattered about and a few dead fish.

Regards

Thanks a lot for sharing these... that's a fantastic sight! Incidentally, it looks like you shot these through a window. Is it not possible to get inside the building at this point? I guess this is due to the construction taking place on the building itself. Does anyone know when the buidling will be completed, or at least if/when they allow visitors?

Cheers,
. Richard

What I meant say was this is what SHOULD have been done to the Hendon example - it will be just fantastic. I wonder if we general forumites could be given a small run down on the amount of original material contained in the rebuild and any lessons for future restorations learned here.

Regards
John P

I don't know, John:

I think it's a better idea to make her look good or close to airworthy if not airworthy. THis plane looked very complete when it came out of the water.

Hi Chris

I was taking the mickey. I hate the Hendon Display - the Canucks have shown the way here - this is how they should be done - once done right it should last 100 years before she needs attention again whereas the Hendon one will be mineral salts by then .

Regards
John P

The building is still closed to the public as far as I know. It is still an active construction site.

They haven't even poured the rest of the concrete floor!
