Sounds about right

Darn it.

Without a Navel Hysterical Center, what are we supposed to poke fun at?

What goes next... the IRS?

Naval Aircraft Are Best Preserved In Water Centre

With a change in name, how about a change in leadership? Let's hope those people in charge who don't give a damnn about preserving our history and heritage are fired!

Change...change....change....."yes, we can!"

Sorry, a small political rant!

:D

Awesome! Does that mean we are going to see a "golden age" of rare aircraft recoveries soon, somewhat similar to the early 90's, with all of the recoveries from behind the Iron Curtain?

Hey who put the mirror on my computer screen.

1. Quit poking fun at these folks.

2. There is NEW LEADERSHIP in place and they have different
opinions about many things.

3. Things are changing as regards recoveries.

4. There "is a new sherriff in town". His heart is in the right
place. The folks in the archaeological section that created
SO many probllems are GONE.

5. Get off these folks back. Give them a chance.

In my opinion the warbird comminity won't get everything it wants,
but things will be a lot better than over the last several years. The
new skipper BELIEVES in history and heritage. He BELIEVES in
teaching sailors and the public about those who came before; about
standing on the shoulders of giants to preserve freedom.

I understand why there has been a negative connotation of the NHC
for the last few years. I truely believe things are headed in the right
direction. Give the new leadership team a chance !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Most sincerely,
Owen Miller

I second that

I agree with Owen. I know the new director and he was my CO at one time. He is geniunely interested in heritage and history. I think things will be different...in a good way.

I'm hearing the same stuff... Like the guys said. Leave them alone! It'd be a fine way to try and make friends by not being willing to give them a chance.

That's great. Maybe they want to do a bit more PR about that - not just through the inestimable Classic Wings and rumour control on WIX.

Always a good journalist... and good for you on that - Seriously.
In reality, I doubt they see a necessity for any PR. I reckon the folks they really need to convince are likely already well aware of the situation and working on things. I mean, honestly, who on WIX would most benefit from this kind of news that wouldn't be in direct contact with them if they were already seriously interested?
There've been indications on a few different threads that some folks here have known this for a while.

FANTASTIC NEWS!!!!!!!

I will give the new director a chance. I do not care about the past problems as much as getting on course to correct the past. If I may in any way help, I will. Saving aviation history is important to all of us here on WIX, how we do it is just a matter of opinion.

I look forward to the working with the new director and the Naval History and Heritage Command. I have a few projects that I would like to promote.
