Parts chasing: GE Turbosupercharger

Fri Dec 12, 2008 10:57 am

Ok, a friend of mine has a supercharger and he's trying to figure out what it is from. He'd also like to know if it was ever on a plane or if it is just NOS.

[QUOTE=zack;20837]ok this is the other number i got, and the impeller.

If that is a GE B-11 series, I think it was fitted in pairs to R-3350s on B-29s. Gary or Dave might be able to add more details and if the specific model you have, which looks like 75-B11-C2, was used on the B-29. Best I can offer.

Just did a Google search on "GE 75-B11-C2" and found this page where two of them (Lot# 66) were sold at auction for $30 by the Univ. of Washington back in 2006!

There is only a very small image there but it looks like they might have been substantially complete. Interesting.

I've got two turbo-superchargers in cans at my house. I'll go look at them when I get home to see if they match what you have. Don't know if I'll be much help in doing that, but you never know.
