Umm, James........I don't think "Bei Mödlingen" is a place. 1st because Bei means "with". and 2nd Mödlingen doesn't google as a location. Maybe be a person's last name.

Can't tell for certain but that looks like a GI helmet on the guy @lower right.
If the location can be pinpointed I'd be happy to drive over and get some pictures of the place.

This is the title when the photograph was used in Collier's Photographic History Of World War II published in 1946.........German jet plane plant was found by the US 9th Army troops 300 meters underground in a salt mine near Engels. The picture shows Heinkels 162's lined up in the assembly room

Collier's being a magazine a lot like Life Magazine for you young folks

sad to say that alot of that excavation work was done with jewish, gypsy, soviet p.o.w. slave labor, not to mention catholics, homosexuals, political dissidents etc. it's also sad to note that alot of the high profile industries of today such as bmw, mercedes benz, i.g. farben, & on the other side of the world.... mitsubishi, daihatsu, etc, all beefed up their wealth at the expense of human slavery as well.
