I am researching Pilots of the 495th F.T.G , Station 342 "Atcham England" who lost their lives whilst training on the P47 Thunderbolt.
Is any one in the SAN DIEGO area planning a visit to the National Cemetery at Fort Rosecrans ?.
If so could I ask for their help ?, I need a Photo of Flight Officer PETER QUINCI 'S grave / Headstone , He is buried in section G site 834.
He died when his P47 crashed into a Welsh mountainside whilst on training Mission from Actham.
Any information/ photos about the 495th F.T.G would also be very welcome, do you know someone who was trained or stationed there ?.
Hopefully if enough information is available I will use it on a proposed 495th tribute web site.
I am also collecting together P47 parts for a longer term memorial project, of which I will post more of oneday when I think I have enough to make it interesting to you all.
Many Thanks in advance and a Happy Christmas to you all.
