By this stage of the war the numerical and material advantages of the USN were really putting the hammer down. In three aerial sorties out of Iwo, the Zeros, once masters of the sky, were smashed with 90% casualties. 71 out of 80 shot down.

I'm surprised there is that much of that bomber left after the pounding the airfields took!
