Congratulations. As you know, only 1% of the USAF enlisted force are CMSgts. That makes you one a very select few. If you get to OSAN, stop by Mr. OH's just outside the main gate, left side of the street, and get him to make some custom made clothing for you.

Congrats Chief!! That is outstanding!! Your post brings back memories of some talented loadmasters, flight engineers, maintenance, ALCE, and aerial port senior NCOs with whom I served--some of them Chiefs. One of our LMs made Wing Senior Enlisted Advisor the the unit benefitted tremendously from his leadership. Those guys were the bedrock of my old Herc units and an integral part of the leadership. With this big promotion, it's obvious your unit leadership has given you the ultimate vote of confidence in your leadership, character and professional skills. Way to go!!

Phenomenal accomplishment, congratulations....not on the remote to Korea, but on putting that 3rd stripe "on top" (although like me I'm sure you fondly remember when it used to be just two...).

Thanks guys. I'm going to Kunsan. Not happy about leaving my wife and daughter for 12 months but... After 24 years of wrenching on Herc's it's going to be tough switching to F-16's. I heard a rumor they don't have propellers...yikes!

Sounds like you are going to the 8th Tactical Fighter Wing. If so, you'll find it's a great outfit. Talking about propellers, in 1966, I was in a C-124 outfit when I got my orders to go to the 8th TFW when they had F4-C's at Ubon. It was an educational experience, to say the least.

Once again, congrats on the promotion and the new job.

Not only congratulations, but thank you. As a prior service enlisted Army guy, I greet every uniformed military passenger that gets on my plane and thank them for their service.

So, an extremely heartfelt, THANK YOU, for your service and continued sacrifice.

I hope I can cross paths with you some day and buy you a drink. Again, congratulations and good luck in SEA.

I am bumping on SMSgt but just don't know if I want to bang my head against the wall for 3 more years. 5 tours in Iraq has burnt me out. Now my only advice to you is:

Inspire or retire!

Fix all those things that were wrong when you were an Airman, NCO and SNCO.

And could you do something about Finance, orderly rooms, DTS, all those CBT's and no one at MPF (I miss CBPO, "Commissary, Bx Post Office").

You are it now! It is a fantastic achievement. Good job and Congrats! Take care in Korea. Do you have a follow-on assignment?

The Kimshee is good (always a side dish there) the best snack is Ramen, cheese & egg.
The food is all good, people are great (away from the big cities) beer is ok but it always tastes a little flat.
Stay away from "Soju" it's like rice vodka, hell of a hang-over....
Great place to visit is Jeajado Island ( I think that's spelled right) the Air force flew into there, I took a hop into there on a C-130 for a two week mountain survivale/rapelling school.

Congrats on being one of the few to make the grade, goes to show how good you are. So now that you are a Chief, what is left to strive for now? Command Chief?
