The inventor and operator of "Stumpy's Fighter Express." He is a member of one of the units of the Fourth Marine Air Wing making daily attacks against the Jap-held atolls in the Marshalls. Lt. Lail converted a discarded auxillary gas tank into a cargo capsule which he slings under his Corsair for fast trips.
