Well not exactly, just thought I'd indulge in a bit of sensationalism. Anyway, my brother and I spent the day at the NMUSAF today, mostly to do the Behind The Scenes tour. While we were waiting, I checked out the painting porgress in the Modern Flight Gallery. As you can see, about a quarter of the building is currently "tarped" for painting. The aircraft behing the curtain are completely shrouded in plastic as well...

Here's the section that's already been painted. They've gone from white to something like nuetral gray. Not as bad as I'd feared..earlier I'd heard they were painting it black, like the Cold War Gallery. Hopefully, once they get the new lighting installed, it'll look less dingy.

I was there about 2 weeks ago and the plastic was in front of the C-124..... That whole side was closed off....

woah,

looks like a scene from the X-files. Is that the "mother ship" in the last picture?

Actually it is lighter than both the Air Power and Cold War Galleries. I spend time every Friday in Modern Flight and once completed along with the new lighting, etc., I personally think it will be a compliment to the museum.

Saw it in person. When the new lights get there, it will be a great looking building.

I have to admit, it's not bad. I agree, once the new lighting is in place it should look nice.

Will it be better lit than the Cold War Gallery?
