do SBDs fold their wings? I 'almost' think not.

Nope non of the SBD models had folding wings. Niether did the F4F-3's. The F4F-4 did though.

Awesome, Jack! That's roughly the idea I had rattling around in the ol' mental sketchbook: a two-ship of VF-27 F6Fs flying low over their carrier. Hard to 'fake' ship's wake, so these pics will help.

That's a target spar used for pilots to practice straffing and dive bombing with. Still in use when I was in. Cool to see A-7s straffing it 8)

Exactly the same way as a T-6! :wink:

The wing to center section joint is quite similar.
