This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

Paid my dues about 10 minutes ago....looking forward to being one of the younger members and doing my part to help the cause!

Congratulations, Col. Fan! The warbird movement needs younger members like you to carry-on the goals of the CAF. You are the future of the CAF!

Welcome to the CAF! My advice to you is to get active if there is a unit anywhere near you, which I believe there should be. It will make your membership much more enjoyable. I first joined when I was 18 years old, the youngest colonel at the time, and I believe the youngest ever to that date. I jumped right in, washing planes, sweeping the hangar floor, whatever was needed. As a result, over the past 33 years, I have got a lot of really neat rides in a lot of awesome aircraft and have enjoyed going to airshows and telling the tales of these airplanes (and met and befriended some awesome people as well!).

Congratulations Colonel. Sounds like an amazing oppertunity you have there. I wish you all the best. Do we have to call you Sir now?

Congrats Col. Scott!
HQ may have forgotten to tell you that you must salute the other colonels who joined prior to you, it has something to do with previous date of rank.

Nah, I'm just kiddin', welcome to the CAF!

I heard it was buy drinks for everyone who has the official coin, if you don't show yours. Don't have one? Bring a huge wallet. The only people who drink more than Col.'s are Shriners.
Just kidding of course. Welcome to the group. As was said before, the more you participate the more you will get out of it.

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone ( and offers for me to buy drinks! ). The closest unit to me is the Mile High Wing, but I think they are without an aircraft at the time. I'm still going to join though. Anyway to get involved excites me.

Welcome, Colonel. It's great to see a young person jumping in. Look forward to great time if you are able to keep yourself active on a local and national level. Hope to meet you sometime down the road; maybe at AIRSHO.

Welcome, Scott. I just came back from Boulder a few minutes ago, weather was perfect. Sorry I won't be there Sat., the skiing is too good to miss. If you are just hanging out some weekend I might be able to introduce you to some T-6 guys at Longmont. Don't know if there is much of that type at BJC now.

Just stay away from the CAF politics and you'll do fine. Congratulations!
