Does anybody have an idea about how many North American AT-6 airplanes are still flying or registered with FAA?

Thanks.

I was going to guess fifty billion, but I suppose that would not have been accurate.

I heard a number in the 600+ range many years ago. I can't recall the source, so don't take it as gospel. Not sure if how much of the planet that number was supposed to include.

Registered is easy, just count 'em up!

http://registry.faa.gov/aircraftinquiry/

352 SNJs?
324 AT-6?
95 Harvard?
--------------
771????

Feel free to check my math!

Some may be just dataplates though, and there is no way to know how many are actually in annual and of those how many have actually been flown recently. Companies like Lance Aircraft can probably put together a bunch of aircraft from parts on hand too.
