Just posted up some photographs I took from Joe T's Sea Fury.

Was that your first time up in a Sea Fury?

Cool shots by the way. Looks like you had a good time.

Cheers,

David

Hi David,

Yup, first time up for me in the Sea Fury, but that was my own fault. I had to lose about 40 lbs to get into the back and I did, then "all was great". What a perfect late afternoon, and Joe T. just knows how to fly the Sea Fury to perfection.

Beautiful photography, John! I recommend viewing the album as a full-screen slideshow. 8)

He does, and you can see my in flight photos from that trip here:

http://flickr.com/photos/jlittle2/sets/ ... 450839640/

This was Veterans Day 2007, and Jack Cronin in his T-6 was alongside in formation, and we flew over 5 of the local military resting and burial grounds, and then when Jack peeled off to head back to Centennial, Joe took me out over Black Forest and we tore up the sky with the Mustang.

Another great day as well.

That Nikon must feel like a large brick when you pull those big 'Gs' in the Sea Hawk!
Love your shots John!

I have been very fortunate to have friends that are willing to allow me the opportunity to fly in their planes, especially warbirds.

The g's in the planes actually got a bit easier to overcome the more I fly.

Granted, as we begin the loops and high speed breaks, it gets difficult to keep the camera "exactly" where I want, but I compensate since I know what is coming in the way of forces against me.

It is still a great deal of fun, and since I don't use or need the gyro to stabilize the photographs, I don't have to worry about another 7 lbs on the camera.

The one thing I notice, is that after I climb out of the plane after doing the maneuvers, I am more relaxed, and energized at the same time, and yes, I do raise both arms with fists held high, and with a lot of fanfare yell "OH YEAH" !!! (Joe got a good laugh at me the other night when he caught me doing that, but I think he understands it completely)
