I'd like to hear more about this one. What did you say to the Warbirds International people after seeing the error? Were you paid for the article?

Challenge has always been bad with credits. I have several photo credits on pics that belong to other photogs while some of my images have other photographers names on them. All due to bad typos.

At least all my articles had the right name on them.

Eric

Helinut,

I never saw the article. This is the first time I've heard about it. I'm sorry it wasn't properly credited but not particularly surprising.

Challenge has such a bad reputation among writers and photographers I'm surprised they can still put magazines together.

One of my pictures was stolen and published in the latest issue of Warbirds International with no photo credit. I take pride in my work and make much effort to get my pictures and at least expect my name to appear next to it. If you have the current issue with the TBM on the front, it is the crash picture of the Loadstar. The picture was STOLEN from me and Im pissed!

Ok, so here's my ignorant question of the day. I've heard stories of Challenge not paying contributers and keeping material for 20+ years. How do they get away with it and stay in business?? For all the air-to-air they do, who pays for the gas and other expenses related to the flying?
We've had the B-25 at some events were they were and I've noticed that they pretty much stay with the heavy hitters and ignore the odrinary folks like us unless they need a photo ship.

Well see how they do now that Warbird Digest is out. Not to mention Classic Wings.

AC and WI are published by the same group, right?

Well, I found by accident, that a bunch of photos that I had sent to them, had been published in the form of a four page layout, back in 1985. I am still awaiting an answer for my letter, where I requested payment from them.

Of course, I never sent anything else to them. Those people are honesty "Challenged."

Last year, two photos were lifted from LAAHS, and published in one of their magazines. They wrote "LAAHS Photo" but no permission was requested, no payment received.

As a result of this, we have disabled all options to copy photos from our web-page.

Saludos,

Tulio
