I just got done scanning a few photos:

I guess I really did have a thing for airplanes when I was young. "Hey dad, whats that airplane"? 8)

This is me and my dad.

Did someone mention Bill Andersons Me 208?

hmm I took this shot at age 13. Not bad if you ask me. It was in Florida in 99 during the great mustang gathering. It was an accident. I was down there with my mom and sister next door I did not know there was a airshow going on until one afternoon I saw a P-47 fly over then a B-25 then formations of P-51's for hours. I asked around and was told about the P-51 gathering. I begged.....I MEAN BEGGED my mom to take me to the airport but she would not let me. :x Finally one evening she gave in and we drove to the airport the sun going down. I couldnt make out much but saw lots of shiney wings out on the field. Then I saw this fly over so I got a shot of it:

FWIW...I don't see my dad much anymore. He has schizophrenia...badly. He's been like that since I was 10. :( He used to be a good guy but anymore he is quite scary. Anyway...sorry to get into my personal life.

Great pictures Nathan.

Your picture reminded me of a question I have.
Do many German aircraft on show "today" display the "swatstika" on the tail. With all the stigma that it has...
I was wondering if most owners omit it... or do they go for accuracy?

Again thanks for the pictures!
Best Regards,

BD--

In North America, it depends on the owner; for instance the new-build 262s omit the swastika (or Hakenkreuz, to give the infamous 45-degree angled version its specific name...the Finns used a "level" swastika that had no Nazi connection whatsoever) but the ex-David Price, now Ed Russell, Me109E does display the marking. In Germany, static-display aircraft sometimes show the swastika/Hakenkreuz, but flyers are forbidden to carry it.

Nathan--

Sorry to hear that about your dad...that's rough. Nice moody shot of the 25 in the setting sun through the fence. I recall you'd planned at one point to try out aviation art. How about converting that image into a painting for a start...since it sort of looks like one anyway?

S.
