Warbird Information Exchange

Chance are that I will be heading back to Seattle on Monday for a week or so. I will more than likely have the opprotunity to visit the MoF again, and possibly the MoF Restoration Facility, the Me-262 Project and FHC again.

Everyone has had a chance to view the pics from my last visit. Where there any pictures you would like to have seen but didn't?

Also... Every time I get back from one of these excursions and report what I have seen I am asked questions that I would not have thought to ask myself when I was visiting. SO... NOW IS YOUR CHANCE! If there any questions you would ask at one of these facilities, let me know ahead of time and I will compile a list. Perhaps I can make a more detailed report with answers to your questions.

There is also an outside possibility I could get down to the Tillamook museum, but not likely.

I will definitely be looking for it. The problem is you need a really powerful zoom lens to get good views of it from a public location. I only have a 70-260. I'll see what I can do.

For example... I was going to try and find out where the aircraft that belong to the museum that is closed/closing at Arlington near the FHC. I thought I would ask where the aircraft are going.

Anything else along those lines?

Hi Mike,

Any more info that you can glean on the FHC P-61 (or is it P-61s?) would be much appreciated, as would their plans for the Bf 109E (to be shipped to the USA before it flies, or flown in the UK first?), Hurricane (restoration seems to have stalled) and any details of their plans for their second B-25 ('Grumpy').

I already sent FHC a brochure for Kevin Smith's SB2C, and they didn't bite... you'd think they'd want a beast like the Helldiver, wouldn't you!

Hey Mike... I'd love a really detailed walk-around series of Museum of Flight's F2G... that would be really cool! I'd also be interested in hearing if the restoration of the F7U is being continued with the intent to fly it... that had been mooted at one point, but I wonder if it's still under consideration.

Yes it is. It is the first time in my 11 year career that this kind of travel op has been available to me. There is a possibility that in the next few years I could travel to Europe on a semi-regular basis.
