a hawker fury with a griffon 85?

I thought that serial rang a bell. It was originally ordered as a Griffon-powered Tempest but became one of the Fury prototypes.

Later it was re-engined with a Sabre VII and became what is believed to be the fastest ever Hawker piston engined fighter, achieving 485mph.

Info from Putnam, Hawker aircraft since whenever.

The picture doesn't do justice to the massive size of this airplane. A few months ago I was at the hangar and stepped outside to see Furias on the ramp. So I went over to BS with the crew and they gave me the opportunity to check out this beast. Very impressive! Especially the main gear struts! Thanks for the pictures.
