Oh my...

Not only a couple nicely-rendered Varga girls there...but isn't that a swastika above the B-17's cheek gun position?

Gotta go...I hear the Historical Sanitation Crew at the door...

Sorry Steve your mistaken. No swastika there it's on its side.
The P-38 artwork is not Vargas. The painter used a photo of the pilots wife but he forgot to put her cloths on.

This reminds me of something really bad that happened to me....My uncle used to send me tapes of F1 races...that I would watch then tape over. I made the mistake of using one of them to tape some B-26 Marauder (Kermit's) footage for a veteran friend of mine. So he proceeded to show the tape to some vet friends of his and on the beginning was a 2 or 3 second clip of porrnn. Being that every VCR is different, of course on my VCR I did not see that on there. My uncle told me he got the tape from a drawer at work where it was left behind by a co worker. Of course my friend thought that I had done something stupid and taped over porrnn...Being old guys they were quite shocked at the whole thing....and to make it worse they thought it was gay porrnn! (He sent the tape back viewing it on another VCR it appeared to be regular porrnn) The whole thing was quite upsetting to me as I was doing him a favor not trying to shock a bunch of old guys. I also would never ever take a tape of porrnn and tape over it....It's something that would not even happen by mistake.....that's what labels are for.

Hehehehee, ohhh man, I just got up off of the floor :D :D

Mannnnn, I can't think of any reason to tape over porrnn either. Why would anyone think that of another person? :D

Thanks John!
Your post made my week!

OMG-Where was this photo taken? I have 3 negatives of her sister ship number 411, P-38L 44-25627 (unnamed); one escorting my uncle's F-7B, one flying with gun-nosed B-25J 44-29766, and one with that general's hack P-61 42-5531. (I'm trying to get his son to scan everything from this album for me.) They were shot around Palawan in '45.

Chris,
Is this the #411 your taking about?? #410 was flown by Chuck Shallenberger and #411 by Pat Coleman. They were assigned to the 44th FS 13th Af and based at Zamboanga, PI July 1945. I'm the historian for the 44th Ftr. Sqd. Association and have about 1000 images relating to the sqd. in WWII.
