I'd like to see it painted up like that again. I dig the checker board. I've got a few poor quality shots of it when it was at China Lake, still in these colors. At this point anything would be better than the sky blue it has worn recently. Is there any plan for the aircraft with its new owners?

I think what Taylor might be getting at is that the airplane has been sold to Brent Hisey. The directory is not up to date, so it is a very valid question.

The aircraft is no longer with the Olympic Flight Museum. It was recently sold to someone in Oklahoma, I forget the name or the group but as I'm writing this....an N-number search brings up, HISEY AVIATION LLC, OKLAHOMA CITY.

I talked to Brent at Reno and he told me they are planning to repaint it in just that paint scheme. Not sure on the timing. His airframe is only 10 bu #s after mine. 135178.

Yesssss!!!!! I hope your talking about the checkerboard. I tried to drum up enthusiasum for that paint when it was at the OFM. I don't think I ever aproached the man writing the checks though.

Yeah, the checkerboard thing. It wouldn't be my first choice, but I like it. Whenever someone is critical of my paint scheme, I always tell them to paint theirs any way they want, so I guess the same goes for Brent. I am glad they aren't going with camo, I love the camo paint schemes, but I don't think they should all be in that scheme. It's one of the reasons I'm leaving mine in Glossy Sea Blue, Marines. Oh, and the fact that my paint is good and it's 40-50K to change it. Details, Details.

I'd prefer it has "Mama Bear" since I know the pilot.
But, I like the idea of being in it's authentic paint!

Like I said, anything is better than that sky blue. I guess Bob Pond was resposible for that. The way I see it is, the checkerboards would be authentic to the aircraft. If you painted it sea blue, I would want to see the radome included to make it authentic. What can I say, I'm a stickler for authentic.
