The UH-1H 65-09819 is located at the entrance to the Canton, IL airport.

The information available on site, indicates that the helicopter was dedicated 0/31/99, to the 25th Avn.Btn, Co "A" [known as "The Little Bears"], that flew this particular aircraft in Viet Nam. As part of operation "Cobra Tail," the helicopter rescued two downed pilots in Cambodia.

When withdrawn from active service, the helicopter had a total of 13,168 flying hours.

So, a different kind of Douglas?

Edit: I knew when I posted it, that it was not a Douglas, but I did not know it was from an Orion.

Long story, but there was this guy who no matter what airplane it was, if it was a four-engine prop job, then it was a Douglas DC-6. : )

Saludos, Scott.

What price did Schettl's have on the cockpit, Tulio?

Mon Mar 16, 2009 12:13 am

Did not ask. I checked their web-site a few weeks ago, and IIRC, was something like 4k.

Very cool cockpit section. Might post that over at www.mycockpit.org . Someone might want to pick that up as a project.

That's an understatement. Argyle, WI is pretty far off the beaten path.
