"The Pledge" of Allegiance

Fri Mar 20, 2009 1:18 pm

This is not exactly warbird info but it is related.
I would like to know how many people would be
interested in such a print.

The print represents an often told tale of US POW Mike Christian
holding up his shirt with the representation of an American flag. His
fellow POWs are reciting the Pledge of Allegiance. This takes
place in the "Camp Unity" portion of the Hanoi Hilton. Mike
was beaten savagely when the Viets found the flag. When
he was able, he began to make another one. There are many
accounts of this story on the internet for those who would like
to read more.

A copy of that print needs to go to every officer and politician (and two to those who were both) who were part of the Gulf of Tonkin Resolution.

Never forget indeed Robbie............

Case in point...........

The USN has again changed the statis of Scott Speicher
from "Missing/Captured" to simply "Missing". This is a
long gutwrenching story and I urge everyone to research
more about it. We left this guy behind and it should never
happen again.
