Sure tis a great shame this bird wasnt kept at Fort Worth inside.. i hate warplanes getting blue clear glass.. ruins the whole point of restoring...

The blue protects the interior of the airplane against the sun. I can be easily removed.

I have watched this restoration for several years now. From the time the aircraft left Ft. Worth until now and it has been an intersting process. When it arrived at Pima it looked like this:

Until it has reached the current point:

There is still a ways to go, but the end seems to be in sight.

While living in Texas and even though I have no affiliation with the Pima Air & Space Museum (other than being a patron) I for one am happy to have seen the airplane moved to Pima. While the folks in Ft. Worth had kept the airplane from the scrap heap it had languised for many years. Now I have every reason to believe it will be completed in the near future.

The B-36 and the TU-95 Bear have to be the oddest and meanest looking propellor driven bombers ever built.

They are both ugly but there is 'something' about both aircraft , purpose built to push the avialable technology of the time
