I got an update on this project when I returned to Canada last night. When I first saw the results of decades of sitting on a firing range, I had to question the sanity of the restorer. But I should have known better - I have seen his work on previous projects! The attached photo shows you what was, three years ago, nothing but a trailer load of shredded metal.

Things are progressing well, as you can see, but there is a need for wheel rims. The aircraft is meant for museum display, so condition is somewhat negotiable. In fact, I received the comment that they will "consider anything as long as they can hold a tire in place."

Can anyone offer any help?

Very cool... any chance you can post some of the photos from before this point... especially the original wreck?

Cheers,
Richard

Just thinking out loud here, but since this Mustang will remain static (and at a comparatively low weight) would T-6 rims work?

Jay Wisler has 27" T-6 rims (and 27" BT-13 static rims with tires for under $200 a piece). Can any experts comment?
