Mate of mine just sold his Japanese Zero fighter for a large $$$ and brought a DC-3 with ALOT of spare change left over... what a lucky bugger.

Your friend sold his Reisen they don't change hands very often, do you have the construction number? I like the A6M but the Ki44 was better.

Any ID on that Reisen yet, Flyingheritage? I'm only familiar with three examples in Australia, all with museums. As Shoki stated, there are just enough WIX Kaigun fans that like to keep track of these things.

Also, any registration info on that DC-3 he acquired?

Looks, like it is one of the replica's the Musuem of Flying had built in Russia a few years ago. The aircraft was advertised in Air Classic about a year ago for 1.9 million. That's alot of money for a replica, even a really nice replica.

That Zero was sold about a year ago. Tom (the guy who sold it) has had his DC-3 for many years. The Zero is now sitting in Kevin Larosa's hager. You wouldn't believe how nice it is to not bang my head on that Zero in the hanger now. Not really sure when the new owner is going to come and take it away.
