Hello guys.
I received the following message from Troy Kirby regarding the Lancaster bomber at Edmunston New Brunswick. I invite everyone who is interested to visit the website and write letters and emails of support to Troy to try and get this historic aircraft restored. It is one of only two genuine combat veteran lancasters left in Canada, the other being KB839 at Greenwood.
Cheers,Peter

Attention World Wide Avro Lancaster Enthusiasts!!!

This coming Tuesday February 22nd, I will finally be meeting with the Mayor,
City of Edmundston officials and interested local parties to discuss the
short and long term preservation/restoration of Avro Lancaster KB882. As
most of you know KB882 is a bonafied warbird with several bombing missions
on her logs. After war time service she went on to fly for an additional
twelve years with 408 "Goose" Squadron. Now it's time for us to take care
of the old girl, thus ensuring that KB882 will be here for another 60 years
and beyond.

I have been requested by the Mayor's Office to illustrate to them how much
support they may receive from International Aviation and Lancaster
enthusiasts. Here's your opportunity to get on board and let the people of
Edmundston know just how important their Lancaster is!

Any messages of support can be directed to my email address and or the
Edmundston email address noted in the CC area.

I hope to hear from as many of you as possible - it has been through your
support and co-operation over the past few years that is making this day
possible! Please forward this message to as many of your contacts as
possible!

CHEERS!
Troy Kirkby

I sure hope that all of our outdoor Lanc's will eventually be stored indoor.

- Calgary
- Edmunston
- Windsor
- Greenwood

Count that people, we have 4 Lanc's outside.

Not counting the Beau in Ottawa......

Hello Mike
I think it will be a long time before kb839 is placed indoors. Saying that however she has at least gone through a conservation and repaint program a couple of years ago.
