Not bad for a first time event. They had about 200 cars and 17 planes. I had hoped to see the F4 fly but a fuel leak kept it grounded. The Collings Huey gave 1 ride while I was there and the passengers got their money's worth.

What's with the blacked-out canopy on the second F-16? I thought this was a flyer.

It was a flyer, until last June. The 147th recd permission to make this jet a static instead of sending it to the boneyard with the rest of the Block 25s. It is supposed to go to Camp Mabry in Austin but who knows if that is still going to happen.

We brought my Wife's 1968 Nova SS to the show, and we were very pleased to get this picture in front of the Collings F-4. (We ordered the poster from the picture folks, it should be here in 4-6 weeks)

We also got to chat with one of the Collings guys, who I beleive may have been the crew cheif on the Phantom, he was a super nice fellow. He took several minutes to talk to Kim and I about the F-4, about our car and a few that he's owned over the years, it was cool! I thanked him for going over the plane with us, he said they hope to have it flying again in about a month or so, it depends on what all they found while they're looking at the # 5 and # 6 fuel cells.

Anyways- here's the pic, I apologize for the poor quality of the scan; it's a really nice picture, but the gloss on it makes it look a little grainy.

The Phantom, Skyhawk, T-33, and UH-1E are all Collings Foundation aircraft, based in Houston.
