Hey Gang,

I'm going to "update" our squadron's formation briefing slides and am borrowing an idea from another unit ... incorporating classic WWII photos into the brief.

For instance, the "time hack" slide could show aircrew gathered 'round synchronizing their watches, the route intro could show a guy revealing a wall map a la 8th AF style. The bus time slide could show guys piling into deuce and a halfs or the hoods of jeeps headed for their hardstand.

Although my unit traces its linage to B-24s, we are a C-130 airdrop squadron so anything with C-47s, etc and paratroopers and/or paradrop loads would be most appropriate, including the ground party using a radio or markers to signal aircraft. Other topics include low-level formation, emergencies, weather, takeoff and landing lineup, etc. Crew members at their stations are also options - specifically radio operator, navigator, and/or pilots. Other units, like P-51s, etc are welcome ... but I'm going to try to keep it Army Air Force if possible - no disrespect to our USN and USMC brothers.

Any photos you guys (Jack!) are willing to share that I can save and use on a gov't computer without copyright issues would be most appreciated.

what does it mean when it says "heavy" and "very heavy" is that with the pay load that the aircraft is carrying?
