KC-97 in Dodgeville Wisconsin

Stopped by today and took a couple pictures of the KC-97 in Dodgeville, Wisconsin. It appears to have been blown off the pads at one time.

looks like you got some extra "string" on the file name. Go in and edit off the stuff after the [/img] and it should work. Looks like you tried to add a second? Enter one "Name" hit enter to get a new line then put second image "Name"

I went to that address, cool pic! Never knew there was one of those beasts in Dodgeville, of course it has been many years since I've been through there.

Hmmm not sure what that is doing? You can always just post a location like

I see what's wrong I think
Have to have the [img]on%20the%20front%20of%20the%20file,%20the[/img] on the back of EACH file see it that works. Forgot just how this works as the one I use auto does this stuff!

I got a lot of info on that bird here a couple of years ago when I saw it driving past. My in laws live in the next county and my brother in law shared a couple of tall local tales about it. He said its location is where it finally stopped after landing at that little airport that's now closed. There is also a tale that the pilot had two shooters with rifles at the end of the runway to take out the mains if he overran!
I took a couple of quick photos of it and then drove on.

I believe you're right about the tall tales. If you look at the aerial photos in Paul Freeman's website, you will see the small taxiway built to get the C-97 over to the front of the motel.
