Today at 4:30pm she took to the sky with a set of new wing attach angles! She's been down for 8 months due to production set backs of the parts, then the installation and the debt encured by being grounded for so many months.

Pics to come tonight.

Nice to see "Executive Sweet" airborne again! Below is a photo that I took of Executive Sweet at Van Nuys Airport (Southern California) in 1977. I very distinctly remember that she was up for sale at the time (Challenge Publications the owner, I believe). I saw an ad in what was probably Air Classics magazine (a Challenge publication) with the asking price of, are you ready, $25,000. This is no mistake. I subscribed to Air Classics even back then in college, despite my below-poverty-level economic status. I don't know what condition "'Sweet's" engines and other systems were in at the time, but the aircraft LOOKED just beautiful in her natural metal finish. This aircraft was no derelict and I had seen her fly fairly recently. I took my Dad out to Van Nuys Airport on that day when he was visiting me in SoCal from the Midwest. I lived very close to Van Nuys Airport at the time. My Dad trained in B-25s during WWII as an aviation cadet. This was as close as he had been to a '25 in all those intervening years and he really enjoyed seeing this aircraft!

FUnny thing, we still have that fire bottle in the picture and its servicable!

32 years ago I earned only a bit over $25,000 for the whole year!
And the house I bought in 1975 cost $30,000!
Still in it today.

...can't decide on a paint scheme though...8th AF...15th AF...20th AF...

I have a newspaper ad somewhere for some of the Tallmantz Catch-22 birds (of which Executive Sweet is one) circa 1973-74 with prices in the $5,000 range, where is, as is (at KSNA).
