Your most accurate war movie scene ....

Happy Hero day all!!! .... I'm sitting in a hotel room working on my laptop (trying to anyway! ... lol) and watching all day war movies ..... I just noticed the scene in "The longest day" that shows two spitfires strafing retreating Germans and noticed how accurate the movie seemed to portray the strafing. My question: .... what would be your most accurate action scene in a movie regarding warbirds? .... Read the question again, not real war footage, not a documentary, not CGI, not BOB film footage showing Spanish aircraft, not actual military film footage of any sort ... i.e. "divebomber" .... This IS a tricky question, you need to really think about it ... no BS!! ... haha ... and yes it's been asked before, probably last year memorial weekend ... these movies bring it out I guess ...
Catch-22 comes to mind, even though most of the B-25's were not right for the theater ... anyone have a better shot?

Band of Brothers did a pretty good job on accuracy, though the "air strike" at the end looked hookey to me. Air Combat, Memphis Belle did a pretty good job, though there were some models used there mixed with the real ones.

The Tuskeegee Airmen Movie was OK for what it had, but they also mixed some footage in that really didn't fit so well!! (Not quite as bad as good ol' Baa Baa Black Sheep!!!!)

I watched quite a bit of "Air Force" this past weekend. I thought the Clark Field, Manilla on-the-ground scenes of the repair of the "Shark Tail" B-17 were pretty accurate for the times. The interior shots of the B-17 were pretty doggone accurate. I can't say much about the aerial combat scenes but they were passable.
I'm certain the B-17 bombing of the Japanese Southbound fleet was not very accurate. I don't think the B-17 was much a threat to the Japanese Navy. It took SBD's & TBM's to do the real damage.
I believe this movie was made in 1943 and by the end if you were of draft/volunteer age I would think you would have got the impression there were not enough Japanese left to fight.

War Lovers comes to mind - simply because many scenes were shot with real B-17's at real former USAAF airfields. Battle Hym was shot in color with real P-51D's in accurate USAF and ROK colors.

Holy Mackeral...I can't even begin to pick out a "most accurate". I CAN, however, tell you what one of my the most glaring inaccuracies in my viewing is.
In "The Longest Day"...a wide shot of the fleet and 2 Skyraiders fly over.

Come on!!! ... all you know it all's and all you scholars, experts etc .... and no one can come up with a great response? ... joking!!!! .... haha .... I have the absolute best example, but I'll wait until the WIXperts chime in .... I'll give you a hint .... RAF movie dealing with a sinking
