While at Midland last weekend, got a chance to shoot a few pics of other aircraft in the hangar....... I think this is a beauty........ I thought this is just what "Der Ober" needs in the hangar!!!!! Mike, you get to talk him into this

Used (successfully) for round Europe racing pre-war, and built like a fighter (109) but with four saloon car seats. I'm told good handling, and obviously great visibility.
Like a Beech 17 - but better.

Wow, I have been looking for a 108/Nord, who do I talk to? I guess it would have to have a big stupid decal put on it to ruin any attempt at authenticity?

Well after putting up 10K or better it would come out of my hanger looking a he11 of a lot more authentic.

Don't like the paint job guys...... hey it's shiny, just missing invasion stipes. At least its got the right engine looks like (Argus). Alan what's the buy in?

FYI - As far as I know, the CAF Bf 108 is not currently up for assignment and is only at HQ for a few months for display. It is assigned to the New Mexico Wing according to the info I have. The Swordfish is a static restoration on display in the main CAF hangar and is not a flyer. Hope that helps.

I've been told the French engine is junk. I got a couple rides with Franz Stigler in his ME-108 (Nord) with the Rennault engine. It was a whole lot of fun. Don't recall Franz talking
about any engine issues and he seemed to emjoy himself!

Randy or Gary, correct me if I'm mistaken, but isn't this 108 based in Alamogordo? I heard that the paint scheme IS authentic! (or at least the color and markings, if not the candy paint)
John Stokes had one many, many years ago. It was a fairly nice plane, but when Ray Harper was flying slow, to keep up with the Tigermoth and FW-44, it started getting hot, so he had to leave them and make low pass at New Braunfels airport.

I don't know the latest "deal" that was made for that airplane. I wasn't real happy with certain aspects of how that aircraft was handled, so it wouldn't be proper for me to share those opinions here.

I'm no expert on Luftwaffe or civil German schemes. Blue was a scheme used on the 108, but the swastika has the wrong proportions, late war crosses on a pre-war 'scheme' and yeah, the candy paint's a bit rich. But it's a toy, right?
